A former employee at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory who claimed she was fired for supporting a colleague’s sexual harassment case was awarded $3.8 million for attorneys’ fees.
It is the second court victory for Dee Kotla of Livermore. In March, an Oakland jury determined that Kotla’s 1997 firing was retaliatory and awarded her $2 million for emotional distress, plus $127,000 for economic losses.
Kotla’s attorneys asked for $5.4 million for fees. An Alameda County judge ruled Sept. 14 that Kotla and her attorneys should receive $3.8 million.
