Like Their Coach, Lakers Just Sit There

Another free-agency period has passed and Laker management and ownership have sat on their butts and appear to be content with this mediocre record and sorry lineup surrounding Kobe Bryant.

From this fan’s viewpoint, the upper brass has fallen asleep at the wheel. Bad draft picks, bad trades and now this delusion of landing a superstar in two years even though no free agent in his prime has ever given up more money to sign elsewhere.

Why did they choose Kobe and bring back Phil if they are wasting the best years of Kobe’s career and have no guarantee that Phil will be around long term?

I recently witnessed a TV ad hyping the Clippers as L.A.’s best NBA team and I felt compelled to ask: When was the last time the Clippers won an NBA title? Gee, I thought so.

I know the Lakers are not having their finest season, but to all those who believe the Clippers might actually do something in the playoffs, Basketball 101 was summed up in that question.
