Man Taped Shooting Attorney Is Convicted

A man who was videotaped shooting a lawyer outside a Van Nuys courthouse three years ago was convicted Friday of attempted murder.
William Strier, 66, of Thousand Oaks could face life in prison plus 25 years to life when he is sentenced Feb. 24. Los Angeles County Superior Court jurors convicted him of attempted murder with special circumstances that he discharged a firearm and caused great bodily injury. He was acquitted of making a criminal threat that involved alleged telephone calls to a woman who managed his trust.
The attorney, Gerald Curry, 55, survived after being shot four times in the neck, arms and shoulder by two guns.
