UC to revise plan on admission rules

UC faculty leaders on Wednesday decided that a proposal to overhaul freshman admissions standards needed more review and revision amid concerns that it would take enrollment guarantees away from many eligible students.
“It needs some work,” said UC Santa Barbara professor Michael Brown, chairman of the systemwide Academic Senate. The faculty senate’s leadership council on Wednesday sent the proposal back to an admissions policy committee for more study, Brown said. He expects a revised proposal by March.
