Universal, Imagine add 5 years to pact

Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have extended their production relationship until 2013.

The new five-year deal goes into effect in 2008, when their old deal expires. Imagine, headed by producer Brian Grazer and director Ron Howard, has been affiliated with Universal since 1986, resulting in such hits as the Oscar-winning “A Beautiful Mind,” “Apollo 13” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
