Sickening sight

I am still trying to erase from my brain the image I saw in Calendar, a still from “Saw IV” showing a torture device designed to rip off a victim’s scalp [“Scene Stealer,” Nov. 1]. It is bad enough that movies like “Saw,” “Hostel” and “Captivity” are produced in the first place. It’s a sadder comment on society that they do such big box office. But The Times should abstain from doing anything to glorify these sickening bloodfests masquerading as filmmaking.
