Lions Gate loss widens on costs

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. reported a wider second-quarter loss on costs to market its movies.
The net loss expanded to $56.2 million, or 47 cents a share, from $14.4 million, or 14 cents, a year earlier, the Vancouver, Canada-based company said. Revenue rose 57% to $343.5 million.
Analysts expected earnings of 32 cents a share and revenue of $280.2 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
Shares of Lions Gate, which has offices in Santa Monica, fell 7 cents in after-hours trading after closing at $10.52.
