Storm prompts flood warnings

The National Weather Service issued flash-flood warnings for parts of San Bernardino and Kern counties Sunday as a monsoon-like storm swept through Southern California.
In Palm Springs, an inch of rain fell in an hour Sunday morning, leaving about 4,500 people without power. In Barstow, traffic on several highways, including the 95 and 247, was jammed because of the flooding.
Officials from the National Weather Service said the storms were isolated and expected to leave Southern California late Sunday evening.
