2 quakes cause little damage

Two early-morning earthquakes in the Inland Empire were strong enough to wake some residents but did no major damage.
The first occurred at 1:22 a.m. and was centered about four miles north of Fontana. It reached a magnitude of 3.9.
The second quake was weaker, recording a magnitude of 3.1, and occurred less than two minutes later in the same area.
Authorities in Fontana said they had no reports of injuries.
