Re “Spitzer steps down amid sex scandal,” March 13
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer just might have made the world a better place. Think about it: A prostitution ring that was operating for years has finally been exposed. Then there is Spitzer, who more than likely will spend more time with his wife and family than he has in years.
It always helps to see how an event like this one brings a greater understanding into the world, even if it comes from the school of hard knocks. The harder the knock, the greater the awakening.

If there is any real justice, prosecutors will treat Spitzer with the same contempt that he treated others during his tenure as New York attorney general. At least his public humiliation is self-induced, which is of little solace to the political and business leaders whose reputations he destroyed with his personal vendettas.
