A Covina man found a fugitive parolee asleep in the rafters of his garage.
Robert Rene Rasmussen, on parole for a narcotics conviction, allegedly fled from police late Tuesday after officers stopped him in a car in the 100 block of North Calvados Avenue, police said. Officers detained -- and later released -- the driver of the car, but were unable to locate Rasmussen late Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, a resident of nearby North Viceroy Avenue heard noises in his garage and called police. Officers arrested Rasmussen on suspicion of trespassing and violating parole.
