No new trial for Castaneda

San Diego County Dist. Atty. Bonnie Dumanis has decided not to retry Chula Vista Councilman Steve Castaneda on perjury charges of lying to a grand jury about his ties to a local developer.
A jury last month found Castaneda not guilty of six charges but deadlocked on four others. On Friday, Dumanis asked that the remaining charges be dismissed.
Castaneda is seeking reelection.
