Driver in fatal crash is arrested

Police have arrested a driver in connection with a crash in which his passenger was killed, authorities said.
Adam Prieto, 21, of Paramount was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after his Honda sedan rammed into the back of a big rig parked on Beach Boulevard north of Garfield Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, said Lt. Mitchell O’Brien of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The front-seat passenger, identified as Juan Hernandez, 21, of Paramount, was ejected from the car and died at the scene, O’Brien said. Prieto was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with unknown injuries, O’Brien said.
