No. 15 Boise State 24, at Southern Mississippi 7: Kellen Moore threw three touchdown passes and the Broncos (5-0) beat the Golden Eagles (2-4) at Hattiesburg. Moore completed 16 of 20 passes for 144 yards in the first half. Moore, a redshirt freshman, came into the game completing 72% of his attempts and on Saturday hit on 70% (21 of 30). The Boise State defense held Southern Miss to 278 yards of offense, about 179 yards below its average.
Tulsa 37, at Southern Methodist 31: David Johnson threw three touchdown passes and the Golden Hurricane (6-0, 3-0) matched its best start since 1942 by beating the Mustangs (1-6, 0-4) in a Conference USA game at Dallas.
at Texas El Paso 24, Tulane 21: Trevor Vittatoe threw three touchdown passes as the Miners (3-3, 3-0) rallied to beat the Green Wave (2-4, 1-2) in a C-USA game.
No. 25 Ball State 24, at Western Kentucky 7: Nate Davis threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals (7-0) over the Hilltoppers (2-5) at Bowling Green in their first-ever game as a ranked team.
at Army 17, Eastern Michigan 13: Collin Mooney gained a career-high 229 yards and helped set up quarterback Chip Bowden’s decisive nine-yard scoring run to lift the Black Knights (2-4) over the Eagles (2-5) at West Point, N.Y.
Ohio 26, at Kent State 19: Boo Jackson passed for 203 yards and Barrett Way kicked four field goals to lead the Bobcats (2-6, 1-3) over the Golden Flashes in a Mid-American Conference game at Kent, Ohio.
Western Michigan 34, at Buffalo 28 (OT): Tim Hiller’s two-yard touchdown pass to Branden Ledbetter in overtime lifted the Broncos (6-1, 4-0) over the Bulls (2-4, 1-2) in a MAC game at Amherst, N.Y.
at Central Michigan 24, Temple 14: Backup quarterback Brian Brunner threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Anderson to help the Chippewas (4-2, 3-0) beat the Owls (2-5, 1-3) in a MAC game at Mount Pleasant.
at Northern Illinois 17, Miami (Ohio) 13: The Huskies (3-3, 2-1) broke up consecutive passes in the end zone late in the game to defeat the RedHawks (3-3, 2-1) in a MAC game at DeKalb.
Bowling Green 37, at Akron 33: Tyler Sheehan passed for three touchdowns to lead the Falcons (3-3, 1-1) over the Zips (3-4, 1-2) in a MAC game at Akron, Ohio.
Louisiana Lafayette 59, at North Texas 30: Jason Chery had a school-record-tying five touchdowns as the Ragin’ Cajuns (3-3, 2-0) beat the Mean Green (0-6, 0-2) in a Sun Belt Conference game at Denton.
at Arkansas State 37, Louisiana Monroe 29: Josh Arauco kicked three field goals to lift the Red Wolves (4-2, 2-0) over the Warhawks (1-5, 0-2) in a Sun Belt game at Jonesboro.
at Florida International 31, Middle Tennessee 21: Paul McCall threw for one touchdown and ran for another to lead the Panthers (3-3, 2-0) over the Blue Raiders in a Sun Belt game at Miami.
