Re “Prop. 8 and the prayer pros,” Column One, Oct. 20

Children are dying horrible deaths from disease and starvation. Wars are maiming, killing and displacing thousands of innocent people. A worldwide economic upheaval has left millions of people panic-stricken, helpless and hopeless.

Thank goodness we have these many fine Christians praying and fasting around the clock to remind God of what must really be important: making sure same-gendered couples can’t marry.
