Jarbidge: quiet and beautiful
Thank you for Tom Winters’ article on Jarbidge and the surrounding area [“Hot Peaks and Cool Views in Nevada,” June 7]. My brothers and I used to hunt and fish the area in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Judging from his descriptions, not much has changed. It is one of the least-visited wilderness areas I have been to.
The picture of Emerald Lake brings back memories of trying to locate it on a cold and snowy day, only to return in defeat, after getting lost. Some years later we finally got there and took an amazing shot of the frozen lake.
