The More the Merrier: Jean Arthur stars as a young working woman who rents out part of her Washington, D.C., apartment to an elderly businessman (Charles Coburn) during the wartime housing shortage. He soon sublets part of his half to a young sergeant (Joel McCrea) and proceeds to play matchmaker for his two roomies in this sweet 1943 romantic comedy (5 p.m. TCM).
Pretty Woman: Julia Roberts became a certifiable superstar with this 1990 comedy-drama, and earned her second Oscar nomination, for her portrayal of a hooker with a heart of gold whose strictly business relationship with a corporate takeover artist (Richard Gere) becomes something more (8 p.m. TNT).
SPORTS
Exhibition baseball: The Seattle Mariners visit the Chicago Cubs (1 p.m. WGN A).
College basketball: NCAA Regional semifinals: Marquette vs. North Carolina (4 p.m. CBS); Richmond vs. Kansas (4:15 p.m. TBS); Kentucky vs. Ohio State (6:30 p.m. CBS); Virginia Commonwealth vs. Florida State (6:55 p.m. TBS).
Women’s college basketball: NCAA Division II final (5 p.m. ESPN2).
