Besides the screening of Paramount’s 1927 best picture winner “Wings” this week, the academy is also celebrating the studio’s centennial with an exhibition that shines the spotlight on some of Paramount’s legendary films and filmmakers. Among the highlights from the studio’s earliest years are letters from Adolph Zukor, who founded the studio with Jesse L. Lasky, and items dealing with such Paramount superstars as Mary Pickford, Gloria Swanson and Rudolph Valentino. Other items in the free exhibition, which continues through Feb. 5, are a poster gallery of all 12 Paramount best picture winners, and costume sketches from the legendary Oscar-winning designer Edith Head.
