One person died Sunday in a single-car accident on a busy freeway transition road in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. on the transition road between the northbound 110 and northbound 101 freeways, California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said.
As investigators examined the scene, the heavily traveled road was shut down and a Sig Alert was issued.
The driver, the sole person inside the vehicle, was found slumped over inside a two-door, light-colored sports car, according to the CHP’s incident log.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Bishop said. Authorities have not released an identity.
