McDonald’s in South L.A. is surrounded by police after a man is wounded in a shooting

Police surrounded a McDonald’s restaurant in South Los Angeles on Sunday night after a man was wounded in a nearby shooting, authorities said.
The man was shot at about 6:20 p.m. near the McDonald’s at Manchester and Normandie avenues and ran inside the restaurant for help, according to Officer Sal Ramirez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police initially thought the gunman also may have run inside the restaurant. Multiple officers responded to the intersection and prepared to enter the restaurant, Ramirez said.
Investigators later determined that the gunman fled the scene after the shooting.
Police did not immediately release a description of the shooter.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg, Ramirez said. His medical condition was not immediately available, and his identity was not released.
