A woman is inside a San Pedro house where a man has barricaded himself, Los Angeles police officials said Wednesday.
It was unclear whether the woman was in the home in the 700 block of South Meyler Street willingly or under duress, police said.
The unidentified man barricaded himself inside the home about 8 p.m. Tuesday. It was unclear whether the house was his residence.
Police received a call about 8 p.m. Tuesday about a man who was upset about getting kicked out of his house.
They said the man locked himself inside the home, which is within a block of a private high school and Cabrillo Avenue Elementary School.
The man is possibly armed, a police spokeswoman said.
An LAPD SWAT team was on scene. Police said they did not consider the woman inside the house with him a hostage.
