Hit-and-run driver sought in fatal Anaheim bicycle crash

Police are searching for a suspected hit-and-run driver Wednesday after a early-morning bicyclist was struck and killed in Anaheim.
The male cyclist, who has not been identified, was hit by two cars about 5:40 a.m. on Orangethorpe Avenue, east of Lemon Street, said Lt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department.
The first car sped off, the driver of the second -- who apparently did not seen the man’s body in the roadway -- stopped and called authorities.
When officers arrived, the bicyclist was pinned underneath a green Nissan Sentra. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
“The second driver came by and unfortunately was unable to see him and hit him,” Dunn said.
The driver cooperated with Anaheim police and was not cited. Officers are looking for the suspected driver of the first car, as well as witnesses to the collision.
