Readers React: Praise for American heroes who stopped French train attack

To the editor: It feels good to be an American right now, thanks to three courageous U.S. tourists who subdued a gun-wielding maniac on a Paris-bound train. Our American heroes saved lives and prevented a potential bloodbath. (“Americans recount French train attack: ‘He was ready to fight to the end. So were we.’,” Aug. 23)
A ceremony was held Monday at the Elysee Palace in Paris, hosted by French President Francois Hollande to thank Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone for their courageous act. But equally important is the gigantic “thank you” due them from the people of the United States for representing Americans at their best and for making us proud.
