More than 250 people gathered at the Ranch at Laguna Beach Oct. 3 to raise $230,000 for the Glennwood House.
The second annual Gratitude for Glennwood gala raised the funds, which eclipsed last year’s mark of $168,000, for the nonprofit that operates a house for 50 young adults with developmental and physical disabilities.
Money raised came from silent and live auctions, while Festival of Arts exhibitors donated work for guests to enjoy as they walked the grounds.
The parent of a Glennwood resident shared the story of the countless times her daughter, who has autism, was rejected socially and even by caretakers, according to a news release.
Her daughter now lives in an independent environment surrounded by a capable and loving staff, and enjoys peers with whom she has made friends.
