Lakewood baseball Coach Spud O’Neil is one proud coach these days.
For the third consecutive year, a Lakewood grad will be playing in the World Series.
Travis d’Arnaud of the New York Mets is the latest from Lakewood to participate.
Last season it was Matt Duffy of the San Francisco Giants.
Before that, it was Mike Carp with the Boston Red Sox.
“It is a good story for our school,” said O’Neil, Lakewood’s coach for 33 years.
