Boys’ basketball: Fairfax is hosting fall one-day event loaded with top teams
- Share via
Fairfax High will be the site for a one-day fall basketball tournament featuring lots of top teams for the coming season. The all-day event is set for Oct. 17.
In an effort to avoid problems from the state CIF, Fairfax is listing the invited teams by the name of their head coach. As an example, the opening game at 9:30 a.m. has Coach Ito (El Segundo) taking on Coach Nitake (Torrance).
Sportswriters, however, don’t have to follow that kind of ridiculous marketing requirement, so I’m going to list the games based on the teams playing, not who the coach is.
9:30 a.m., El Segundo vs. Torrance; 11 a.m., Mater Dei vs. Brentwood; 12:30 p.m., Maranatha vs. Long Beach Poly; 2 p.m., Fairfax vs. Crespi; 3:30 p.m., Windward vs. Alemany; 5 p.m., Loyola vs. La Canada; 6:30 p.m., Chino Hills vs. Redondo; 8 p.m., Santa Monica vs. Sierra Canyon, 8 p.m.
