Football: It’s the biggest game in San Juan Hills history on Friday
- Share via
It’s the eighth year of varsity football for San Juan Hills High in San Juan Capistrano, and no game has been bigger than Friday’s South Coast League home showdown against Mission Viejo.
It’s the battle of the unbeatens. San Juan Hills is 7-0. Mission Viejo is 8-0.
Mission Viejo rallied for a win over Tesoro last week. How do you knock off the Diablos?
“We have a lot of work to do because they are very talented,” San Juan Hills Coach Aaron Flowers said. “They’re used to winning.”
San Juan Hills quarterback Patrick O’Brien, a Nebraska commit, is completing a stunning 80% of his passes.
Flowers said it’s a collective effort among O’Brien, a receiving crew that doesn’t drop passes and an offensive line that’s providing excellent protection.
This game figures to come down to can San Juan Hills tackle well and stop the variety of plays that Mission Viejo runs.
