Girls’ volleyball: Santa Margarita knocks off No. 1 Mater Dei

Santa Ana Mater Dei was ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division 1 girls’ volleyball, but the Monarchs found out how tough it is competing in the Trinity League on Wednesday night.
Santa Margarita, ranked No. 4, swept the Monarchs in three sets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-23.
It was the first defeat for Mater Dei.
Meghan McClure led Santa Margarita with 15 kills.
Santa Margarita is 3-0 in league. Mater Dei dropped to 2-1.
