Kings update: Coach Darryl Sutter’s debut comes against the rival Ducks, whose coach, Bruce Boudreau, hasn’t been on the job for even a month in Anaheim. Sutter conducted his first Kings practice Wednesday and had Mike Richards on a line with Simon Gagne and Trevor Lewis. Richards, who has been out since Dec. 1 because of a head injury, could return tonight and, barring the return of symptoms, said he planned to do so. Also Sutter had Brad Richardson on a line with Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown.
Ducks update: The Ducks said center Saku Koivu, who has been out because of a strained groin, would not play against the Kings. Meanwhile, Teemu Selanne’s nine-game point streak is the longest in NHL history by a player 41 or older, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. In that streak, Selanne has three goals and 13 points.
