Just in time for the Olympics, free e-books for exploring London

Catch a little Olympic fever with electronic travel guides you can download for free. They’ll come in handy if you are visiting London for the beginning of the 2012 Summer Olympics on July 27 or a year from now.
The deal: Lonely Planet is offering e-books for free -- some for a limited time. Here are the options and offer deadlines.
“Not for Parents London” aims at kids 8 and older in graphic (photos, drawings, cartoons) format. Free downloads for iPads from iTunes until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Aug. 17. (Usually costs $9.99.)
“London-The City” provides a self-guided walking tour that passes by St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and other landmarks. Free downloads available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via Lonely Planet Travel Guides app until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on July 30. (Usually costs $2.99.)
“Stratford and East London” covers neighborhoods in London and beyond. Download the PDF from LonelyPlanet.com for free until Aug. 17.
“Recession-Busting Britain” provides freebies in the British capital, from guided walks to cathedrals, museums and markets. This may be downloaded on a variety of formats, including Kindle, Nook, Google Books and iTunes. It is offered for free indefinitely.
