Baseball: City Section adds Chatsworth JV team to playoffs

The City Section corrected an embarrassing omission today by adding Chatsworth to the junior varsity baseball playoffs. The Chancellors will play No. 16 seed Westchester in a play-in game Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face No. 1 Roosevelt on Wednesday.

The Chancellors were left out of the JV playoffs when the West Valley League representative failed to show up at the meeting because of a communication error. The other coaches who were putting together the seedings decided to include only the West Valley JV champion, El Camino Real, in the tournament. Chatsworth finished second.

While it’s only JVs, the omission showed that the City Section needs to revamp its seeding process.
