S&P; raised American Airlines’ debt ratings.

Standard & Poor’s said it took the action because of the airline’s healthy earnings and strong cash position. The ratings changes affect $470 million in American senior and subordinated debt, subordinated debentures issued by AMR Corp., the airline’s parent, and revenue bonds sold by the Dallas-Fort Worth regional airport to finance American’s headquarters there.
