Volunteers to offer emotional support to those with AIDS and to their families and friends are being sought by San Diego AIDS Project.
Training sessions will be held on two successive weekends beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at 4304 3rd Ave. in the Hillcrest area.
Chris Hart, volunteer coordinator for the project, described the training for those applicants selected to participate as rigorous. It includes peer counseling, the medical aspects of the disease, death and dying, and grief and bereavement.
