Fire officials and brush-clearance experts will demonstrate ways to remove flammable undergrowth from hillsides Saturday during a seven-hour Topanga Canyon safety seminar, officials of the Topanga-Las Virgenes Resource Conservation District have announced.
The demonstration will be conducted by representatives of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Agricultural Commissioner’s office and by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. Techniques will be demonstrated between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at a 50-year-old stand of brush at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd, said David Gottlieb, a resource district director.
