Dennis Tinseth, a teacher at El Monte High School, has been given an $800 scholarship to participate in an American Revolution workshop at Valley Forge, Pa. The workshop is sponsored by the Freedoms Foundation and the American Legion of California.
Peter Altenburger of San Gabriel High School and Choon Heong Ong, Ho Hung Jung and Hai Feng Huang of Alhambra High School were given $600 medical scholarships by the Los Angeles County Medical Assn., San Gabriel Valley District 12.
Duare Munro has been named principal of William Workman High School in the City of Industry. Munro will replace David Dowling, who will become assistant superintendent for personnel for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District.
Theodore Hurwitz has been elected vice president for institute relations at Caltech in Pasadena. Hurwitz, an alumnus of Caltech, is associate vice president for development at the University of Chicago.
