British Air School Curbs Libyan Pilots

OXFORD, England — A British school for airline pilots banned three Libyan students from flying solo Monday in the wake of threats on Tripoli radio against American interests in Britain.
The Oxford Air Training School near this university town in central England said the decision to ban the three was taken “in the light of publicity.”
None of the Libyan pilots were grounded, but instructors will now accompany them while they are in the air, a spokeswoman told reporters.
The announcement followed a message broadcast on Libyan radio and monitored by the British Broadcasting Corp. in London that said a revolutionary force was prepared to form a suicide-squad to act against the United States.
