Between 100 and 200 barrels of oil spilled near San Francisco’s Bay Bridge, Coast Guard officials said. Petty Officer Manny Mangosing said the Coast Guard had received reports that the spill stretched from Alcatraz Island to Oyster Point, south of Hunter’s Point. As crews worked to collect the oil, samples were taken from ships in the area in an attempt to determine if one might be responsible.
