Three construction workers were injured Tuesday when a scaffolding collapsed beneath them inside the building they were working on, an Oceanside fire official said.
No names were given; however, two of the men were taken by Life Flight helicopter to Palomar Hospital, and the other one was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, said Battalion Chief Frank Imbilli. Another man was released on the scene near Vista Way Freeway and Via Esmarco, he said.
The men were standing nearly 14 feet above the ground on top of about 35 trusses when the trusses collapsed about 2:45 p.m., he said.
“They (investigators) don’t have any idea at this time” why the trusses collapsed, he said, but the incident is still under investigation.
