Striking union meatpackers cannot block entry to the Hormel’s flagship plant by engaging in mass demonstrations, a federal judge ruled in St. Paul, Minn. U.S. District Judge Edward Devitt ordered Local P-9 of the United Food and Commercial Workers not to impede or stop plant employees from reporting to work at the plant in Austin, Minn. The National Labor Relations Board sought the injunction pending a decision on whether Local P-9 was engaging in unfair labor practices.
