In fairness, ask the same question about the Replacements, 10,000 Maniacs, Violent Femmes, Minutemen, Prince, Madonna and all of the other hackneyed, overpraised pop junk that still ain’t in the same cosmos as the Stones.
Hype all the new industry product you want; the sad fact is, in light of the mountainous piles of mediocrity that you guys promote each week, it’s embarrassing for you to ask this question.
In their wheelchairs the Stone’s would still out-rock the pack of 1986.
