McCarron Rides Silken Light to Victory on Turf Course in Hollywood Park Feature

Silken Light, ridden by Chris McCarron, made a move for the lead near the head of the stretch and won by 1 3/4 lengths in the $24,000 feature race on the turf Wednesday at Hollywood Park.
Beautiful River, with Aaron Gryder aboard, finished second, seven lengths in front of Blue Tango, ridden by Bill Shoemaker, in a field of eight.
Silken Light covered 1 1/16 miles on a firm course in 1:42 3/5 and earned $13,200 for the victory in the race for 3-year-old fillies.
Sent off the favorite, Silken Light paid $6.60, $3.40 and $2.80; Beautiful River returned $3.60 and $3, while Blue Tango paid $3.20 to show.
