Nichols Institute Gains in 3rd Quarter

Nichols Institute in San Juan Capistrano said it earned $348,000 during the third quarter, up from a year-earlier net loss of $181,000.
Revenues for the quarter were $14.4 million, up 62% from $8.9 million.
For the first nine months, Nichols said, net income rose to $919,000 from a loss of $209,000 in the same period last year.
Nine-month revenues were $40.9 million, up 61% from $25.4 million.
Nichols operates medical-testing laboratories and makes diagnostic test kits.
