A teen-ager wounded in the head in a drive-by shooting near Koreatown died Saturday of his injuries, police said.
Richard Sahagun, 16, had been on life-support systems since he was shot late Friday night as he stood on a sidewalk talking with friends. He died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday at County-USC Medical Center, spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said.
Sahagun was wounded by a shot fired from a pickup truck that drove by him and his friends in the 1000 block of South New Hampshire Avenue near Koreatown at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Police Detective Bernie Skiles said.
Police were looking for a mid-sized beige pickup truck with three people in the cab.
