Brown Wins It for UCLA Women

Jaime Brown’s only basket of the game, a 15-footer at the buzzer, gave UCLA’s women’s team a 75-74 Pacific 10 Conference win over Stanford at Palo Alto Saturday night.
The Bruins (19-11 overall, 12-6 in the Pac-10) trailed, 74-70, but Dora Dome hit a three-pointer with 16 seconds left, and Sonja Henning of Stanford (26-4, 14-4) missed a free throw with eight seconds left.
USC 99, California 97--Cherie Nelson had 26 points, and the Trojan women scored the last fivepoints of overtime to win at Berkeley.
The Trojans (21-7, 15-3) trailed by 14 points in the second half but escaped with the victory when a layup by MeMe Fanner of Cal (15-15, 6-12) rolled off the rim at the buzzer.
