A North Hollywood man who set the woman he lives with on fire after an argument was charged with murder Friday after the victim died of her injuries, Los Angeles police said.
Steven Cole, 37, was being held without bail in the North Hollywood jail, Detective Mike Coffey said.
Cole was arrested Aug. 14 on suspicion of attempted murder after he had poured gasoline on Mary Anne Mahoney, 43, and lit it, Coffey said. Mahoney was burned on 60% of her body, Coffey said. The couple’s home in the 5800 block of Whitnall Highway was damaged in the fire.
