L.A.’s Greatest Band

The first clue that this was to be yet another script of benighted scribble (so endemic of Mr. Robert Hilburn’s poorhouse writing) was the pretentious title: “L.A.’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band--Who Is It?” (Aug. 21).
To actually enlist serious disputation on such a banal premise in order to apotheosize the irrelevant establishment of America’s junk food culture is . . . SILLY!
After all, how valid can the answer(s) to such a subjective question be if the result is a list that includes the Bangles?
