CHP Officers Help a Grateful Motorist

Re: Commendation of (California Highway Patrol) Officer Matt Clark (Officer 9876) and his partner.
Officer Clark and his partner (name unknown) are to be commended for their special assistance given to me Oct. 3 at about 8:15 p.m. Just after making the transition from the Santa Ana Freeway north to the Orange Freeway north, I had a tire blowout and had to make an emergency stop in the far left lane.
While attempting to make the tire change, the two CHP officers stopped to assist me and did not simply look to see what the situation was and depart quickly. Officer Clark assisted in removing the spare tire, which was stuck tightly. Without the help of these two men, I would not have been able to manage the tire change.
Their courteous and friendly attitude was outstanding, and the logistical assistance was excellent.
I have been driving the Southern California freeway system since 1960. This is not the first time CHP officers have provided crucial assistance to me in dangerous situations.
I am deeply grateful to these fine young men and feel they should be recognized for special assistance to a citizen in distress.
