Up to 7 Injured in 2-Car Freeway Crash

A two-vehicle crash Sunday evening on the Riverside Freeway left up to seven people injured, with one having to be airlifted to a local hospital.
The accident was reported at 7:24 p.m. on the eastbound Riverside Freeway at the Orange Freeway. Anaheim fire dispatchers said five to seven victims had been transported to local hospitals.
One was rushed by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where hospital officials declined to elaborate on the patient’s condition.
Several other victims were transported by Anaheim fire paramedics to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim and United Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. The condition and number of patients at United Western Medical Center were not immediately known.
Two other victims at Kaiser Permanente were identified by hospital officials as Slena Luengas, about 5 years old from Riverside, in good condition; and Antonio Pena from Stanton, in fair condition.
