W.R. Berkley Corp. has named Robert V. Mendelsohn, 44, president and chief operating officer, and John D. Vollaro, 46, as executive vice president. William R. Berkley, who has held the title of president since founding the Greenwich, Conn.-based company in 1967, will continue as chairman and chief executive. Mendelsohn had been executive vice president, and Vollaro had been senior vice president.
