Arnold Enters Into Lease Agreement That Will Save Local Harness Racing
- Share via
Lloyd Arnold, Los Alamitos president and general manager, announced that he will lease the 25% of the track currently owned by Chris Bardis, and that he will continue to promote harness racing at the facility.
The announcement, along with the impending passage of Senate Bill 944, which will open up simulcasting in Southern California, makes possible a 10-month racing schedule in California in 1992.
The schedule would consist of a 13-week winter/spring harness meet at Los Alamitos starting in February, followed by a 12-week meeting at Cal Expo in Sacramento and then another 13 week fall season at Los Alamitos, pending California Horse Racing Board approval.
